Second Try…Of the first day in Boston

IMG_4023

{Grammy Ann, I tried earlier as I know you are waiting, but the computer crashed.}

The first day was the hardest!  I forgot what it was like to navigate the “T” and of course I had never done it with four kids and a HUGE double stroller.  Sadly, the Museum of Science is not a handicap accessible stop.  Somehow I made it down the huge set of stairs with the stroller and a block away from the museum when the sky opened up!  And I mean OPENED up.  Thunder, Lightening, and RAIN!  LOTS of rain!  We were soaked and scuttled for cover by this huge dinosaur!IMG_4027 IMG_4029 IMG_4036

When we made it in we were cold and wet (check out Andrew’s shirt).  But that did not stop the fun!  The kids and I stayed there for SEVEN hours.  This place is like a mall of science.  Three stories of exhibits and we still did not experience it all! IMG_4041 IMG_4042 IMG_4050 IMG_4055

The Bee Hive!  Check out the tube that lets the bees go outside!  So fun! IMG_4059

Check out Ben’s face! IMG_4061 IMG_4062

He loved that maginifying glass!  FYI that is not dirt on his cheek but a bruise that will appear in every picture.  =(  He walked into the footboard of our bed before we left.   IMG_4070

They sat forever watching this little chic hatch! IMG_4076

IMG_4152 The butterfly room…but that is a WHOLE OTHER post!  IMG_4080 IMG_4082 IMG_4086

A real heart and lungs.  Andrew and Natalie eventually held it but Ben was off and running so I couldn’t capture that photo! IMG_4096

The M.C. Escher room! IMG_4097 IMG_4099 IMG_4101 IMG_4114 IMG_4135 - Copy IMG_4143

     IMG_4389 - Copy Hissing Cockroaches that sissy would not go near and brother would not LEAVE.IMG_4392 - Copy IMG_4413 - Copy IMG_4414 - Copy   IMG_4422 IMG_4424 IMG_4433 IMG_4463

Complete AWE over the dinosaurs. IMG_4464  IMG_4470 IMG_4475  IMG_4491{Pretending what it would be like as humans hiding from REAL dinosaurs}  Probably not museum appropriate; but totally kid appropriate.  =)  IMG_4496 - Copy   STOP!  Wild Things!

We made the mistake of showing Ben this truck simulator.  He would not leave it.  Each time we passed this area he had to sit and do it AGAIN!IMG_4530  IMG_4532 IMG_4536 IMG_4541

Totally enthralled! IMG_4542 IMG_4544 IMG_4554

MA!  Did you see this? IMG_4555

  IMG_4560 IMG_4565 IMG_4570 IMG_4571 IMG_4574 IMG_4576 IMG_4580 IMG_4581 IMG_4583 IMG_4585 IMG_4589 IMG_4592 IMG_4594 IMG_4599 IMG_4600 IMG_4601 IMG_4602 IMG_4603 IMG_4612

After dads seminar we had to take him back through and show him the highlights!  No wonder we were there SEVEN hours! IMG_4614 IMG_4615 IMG_4622

Even when Ben got too tired he sat in his stroller and enjoyed the view from the museum window!

When dad got there after his conference we tried putting a body back together.  (See the puzzle pieces of organs in the box).  We almost didn’t do it and Natalie said, “PLEASE!!! This person will have a bad day if he is not put together again”.  That gave us all such a chuckle.

Someone had so much fun!   IMG_4628 IMG_4630

I know why they call Boston the “walking city.” IMG_4638

So much to talk about on the walk ‘home.’

Wow! I am impressed...7 hours with 4 kids! You are a supermom! I was laughing because Jackson has a bruise on his cheek in the exact same place! Great pics as always!

Well worth the wait, Joy!! Loved all the pictures. For a little one, Ben shows such intensity! What a great day for all of you.
