Snowed In

IMG_7846This is a shot of my flower boxes on the deck this MORNING.  I’d open the door to take another shot now that it has snowed even more; but the backdoor won’t budge as that entrance is officially “snowed in.”

IMG_7858The little words read, “this dark mass is Mike.”  This is a shot of him shoveling at a point where the wind really cut down visibility.

IMG_7861Andrew’s friend Isaac walked a half mile in the blizzard and the three boys Jacob, Andrew and Isaac have enjoyed playing outside and helping dad shovel us out.  This is Andrew in his yellow parka and five pair of pants and layers upon layers of socks under snow boots.

IMG_7875 Ben and Natalie watch from the window in the family room.

IMG_7896The little guys will not be joining them outside as they are sick, more on this later.

IMG_7900But for now Ben is content watching from the window.

IMG_7908Daddy makes sure to wave hello every now and then.

IMG_7911Gracie, refused to go out last night when we only had about three inches on the ground.  We tried to convince her things were not going to get much better.  She sits on the couch by the window to watch the boys too.  She loves them dearly but draws the line when the snow is over her head.  =)

IMG_7915And here is the reason Ben is going NOWHERE.  He is terribly sick.  Natalie has a touch of it but Ben got the full blown bug.  I cut the photo off to spare the viewer as to what is continually leaking from his nose.  I am so thankful our pediatrician saw us yesterday and loaded us up with eye drops and strong antibiotics.  This guy is pitiful.   If you know Ben, you know he does not sit for long.  Last night he laid in my lap for almost an hour an half letting me rock and sing him to sleep.  I am thankful the snow is keeping us safe and without anywhere that we need to go.  It’s a luxury to be able to keep him home in his jammies while the antibiotics kick in!

But the big boys aren’t sick; so take your energy outside and shovel!!!  =)
