Lane Pool Opens...Memorial Day Weekend

Lane opened! We had a fabulous weekend catching up with old friends and we even got to invite some new friends to Lane! Natalie and Michaela have become such great friends over the course of this year and we have really loved getting to know Matt and Melissa and don't forget Madelin! Soon, I'll have to do a post of the girls through the various seasons as we have had photos of the girls on Fall play dates with matching fall wear, Christmas gowns, Easter dresses, and now SWIM time!
Ben loves the social action at the pool. He loves a crowd and is always happiest where there is action! He loves being with and watching the kids. Some of the other members of our pool couldn't believe how much he had grown and changed since last summer!
Ben and sweet Madelin
Ben needs shade with that strawberry blond hair, blue eyes, and FAIR skin. Genetics are a funny thing!
Mike trying so hard to get Natalie to join him (the water WAS cold). How do we have other children on swim team?
Natalie is queen of the baby pool and has NO desire to acclimate to the big pool. Our cautious girl!
What do you think Ben is thinking? I think if he could talk he would have said, MOM! Make him stop! Get me out of here! Don't you see I am getting my new suit wet??? Why do people think this is fun????
Mike still trying oh-so hard to get him to see all the fun that could be had!
Ben, still DETESTING the water. Natalie tries to help reassure him (Natalie the same child who DETESTS the big pool. =)
My wonderful friend Melissa and her precious, red headed daughter, Madelin. Madelin and Ben are becoming great playmates and just cannot imagine how much more they will enjoy each other as they grow over this next year.
Hard to believe that a year ago today he was just a few days old. Too new to take up to the pool! In fact last year on Memorial Day we spend several hours at AI DuPont hospital as he had a sever case of newborn jaundice and he needed more blood tests and equipment so that we could treat it at home vs. being admitted to the hospital. Here he sits in his stroller with his bottom lip out as he had his feelings hurt! Oh, how fast the time goes.
