Tonight we made cupcakes for Jake to bring into school to celebrate his birthday. Natalie was quite the "helper" and could barely contain her excitement in baking and using the spring sprinkles.
As you can see Ben got into the act too!
Jake was pretty particular and counted out the cupcakes that were to be for his friends. Making sure they were all of the same shape and size and then he let his sibs have the rest!
It was a messy night but as you can see our little vacuum cleaner with a tail was there to lend a paw with clean up!
Truth be told at first I would have much preferred to buy the cupcakes. Dad was working late and I had so much to accomplish that week for school. But when Jake came home one day and said, "Hey Mom can you make the big fluffy cupcakes for my class....." It hit me that this could be the last time he asked me. Who knows if it will be cool to bring in treats in junior high?In the end, we made about four dozen cupcakes. I think we used every color shape and size sprinkle we had on hand. It was just one more experience that taught me any moment with your kids, is an opportunity to share some fun and make some memories in the process.
