It was time for a haircut. I started to realize it when I saw his first birthday photos. Truth be told, I could have left it long forever, but I got tired of pulling food from it! Ben likes to feed himself. He is an
independent little man and somehow he winds up with 3/4 of his food plastered to that
beautiful blond hair of his.
On our way to Virginia to go get Lauren, we stopped for three haircuts. Ben, Jake and of course Natalie (she never turns down the
opportunity for beautification).
He hated the idea at first but then got on board once they put a cape on me and allowed him to sit on my lap.

He started to squirm when she cut around his ears. But then he was given
his first lollipop! It was a day of "firsts" for him.

Do whatever you want he says...as long as I can access this pop!

Cutting those baby curls and fly-aways dramatically changed his
appearance to us. Somehow he just looked bigger.
More like a little boy. Oh, how hard this is! I have been through these stages three times before but somehow it does not get any easier. To be truthful it seems harder knowing how quickly time passes and with the knowledge that he is the last.

Now we were off to on our three hour ride to
Virginia! Ben is still amazed over his lollipop and grinning the whole way...I think he
felt like the big boy that mommy was so sad to see emerge!
