Last week while the boys were at football practice we headed over to Natalie’s Open House for preschool. It was the night she would meet her teacher, classmates, and see her new room. Natalie bounded into her room and instantly started chatting with her new preschool teacher about her monogrammed “big girl” book bag. She learned that there would be two Natalie’s in her class this year. Natalie was not too sure about that and said “well, she was the only Natalie Cronauer. So we then tried to get her used to the fact her seat and cubby would say Natalie “C.”
We were thrilled to see how easily she connected as we thought it would be hard to get used to the idea that Miss Christine and Miss Jen were not her teachers this year (oh, how she adored those two).
This year she is attending a new preschool. We thought she would be nervous. I can still remember pulling the boys off of me like it was yesterday when they first started a new setting. But not Natalie. I love how confident she is and am always surprised by how easily she adapts.
She surprised Mike and I by sitting right down at her seat, started her snack, and began chatting with new friends.
As you can see she was not shy about exploring the room!
She is thrilled that her and Michaela are in the same class.
She made a sheep at her desk. Brought it out to the hall to place it in meadow.
But then she did not want to leave him behind.
She loved the murals on the walls and wanted her picture in front of them.
It was good to see her walk out confidently at the end of the evening and eager to come back again.
Only, to wake up the next morning and say, “I’m ready!.” Poor girl she didn’t realize it didn’t start for a whole other week.
