The Green Grass Grows and Some Thoughts On Generosity…

IMG_5750IMG_5752

I don’t think the word gross could accurately describe Mike’s legs when he came in just a few moments ago!  In this instance the picture did not even capture the true heinousness of what he looked like after mowing and edging a yard that has not seen a piece of lawn equipment in weeks!  Some things are truly indescribable.  Our yard and housekeeping are on the bottom of the list of priorities during these last three weeks and the next three to come.  Our neighbor Norm, very kindly asked last night if there was anything he could do...OR anything we needed to borrow when standing on his neatly manicured yard last night.  So sorry neighbors! I have to tell you we can’t wait to get things back on track too!  It’s a scary feeling to think you may loose a small child in the grass that is growing in your backyard. =)

And to my sweet friend, Irene, who brought a meal and then offered to come back and help Mike tidy up.  You are too sweet.  This next photo is of a post card I saw that made me laugh and think of you!

We truly have been blessed by everyone’s patience and kindness.  My friend and fellow MOPS member, Marsha Alekel, has organized a meal calendar that has spanned all month long.  I tried canceling the meals last week as I am feeling better…but she re-instated them and as of last night brought her fourth meal to our house!  Who does that???  She has taken kindness and generosity to a whole new level.  But that I think is a whole new post waiting to be written!

You should have asked your neighbor to cut your lawn when he asked if you needed anything!

Oh no no! He really was being NICE. Maybe I expressed his words wrong!
