OK, dear first born. Seems as though my last few posts have featured a special post with each of your younger sibs...I don't think you have read my blog recently so it's only a matter of time that I hear, "Hey, where is mine? Or where is the love for Jake your oldest and wisest child." OR something..ahem a tad cocky like that. =)
But your right, maybe I don't speak these words enough to you. Perhaps I take for granted the connection the two of us have. How you know what I am saying when I'm not really saying it because my mind is all confused from the 1o1 tasks set before me by you sibs {especially screecher Ben.} But you just see the need and fill it; always with your cheerful way. Maybe I mistake this connection and {hope and pray} that you also know the unspoken words of my heart. That there are days that I feel like I could burst because I am so proud of you. Jake, your the guy who took "Mike and Joy" from being those crazy kids who never knew what they were doing at any given moment to PLANNING what they were doing because we now have you to look out for, you to plan for. Now I don't think there is a day that goes by that we don't sit and think about how to plan for you four. What do we next? What can we do better? Sadly, jeez what did we totally screw up today? You are our first born. The guy that forges the way. Along the way I hope you always know that we stand behind you, cheering for you. Thanking God for each day we spend with you....yes, even on those days that Dad threatens to pull the car over because of YOU..oh, verbal You! We have got a road ahead of us as we start junior high in a few weeks. But always know that there IS a "we" in everything you do. Because we love you and promise to be just a few steps behind as you find your way. I love you dear, first born, more than words could ever say.
Glad, to see you are enjoying your summer. Even though MOPS is feeding you during my recovery. I would have told them to stop bringing meals over a week ago but I knew you would kill me! I still can't believe you ate Mrs. Watkins Chicken Divan for BREAKFAST. I promise to also learn how to make Melissa's cookies. =)Thanks for playing with your siblings all summer long even when no one has asked you to!
